If the Small Business Pushcart owners are relocated to permanent kiosks in front of the new Filene’s building as promised and the urban people aren’t pushed out due to the inability to afford the new product mix then I will stop using the word “gentrification”. The BRA needs to make a firm plan on what comes next. The business improvement district or BID they are working on should add more money to the area in a few years but they need to concentrate on bringing people Downtown NOW. Besides where are the articles on the BID? What is it and how will it work?
